1. Innovative Chemistry for Biorefinery
. The collaboration between the two countries will speed up the investigation of catalytic systems for the production of new value-added specialty chemicals at the pilot scale. The expertise in chemical engineering and research facilities in Taiwan will prove to be very important to the success of this project.
2. Metabolomics and Bioactive Natural Products
. Metabolomics and multi-omics analyses (i.e., genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, the latter of which will be performed by a team in Taiwan) will provide a blueprint for how the plants biosynthesize these bioactive compounds. Thus, the success of this project is particularly important for the foundation of synthetic biology research of natural products in Thailand and worldwide.
3. Innovative Materials for Sustainable Environment
. World-class expertise in multiscale modeling and machine learning techniques of a team of Taiwanese collaborators would contribute to understanding of the catalysts for hydrogen storage systems. In addition, the experience in semiconducting polymers of the Taiwanese team can also be shared and collaborated with the Thai partners to develop new electrode materials for electrical energy storage devices.

By building on a solid and extensive network of scientists within Thailand and ASEAN countries developed to date, new collaboration made possible by BioMeta would further strengthen our natural products capability to a new level.
